The history of Prestige College Schools dates back to 1991 when the first class rooms were build on a farm north of Pretoria. From this humble start in the semi-rural area of Hammanskraal grew a school that without doubt can hold its own with the very best private schools in the country – whether in the excellence of academic results or sterling achievements on the sports fields and in the performing arts.

It is on this solid foundation that Barnstone Education in partnership with the Schools and Education Infrastructure and Investment Fund of South Africa (SEIIFSA) set about the establishment of more schools able to deliver the same outcomes, especially in those areas where traditionally access to quality education was limited. In January 2015 we opened Thornview Prestige College, based in Soshanguve, educational home to more than 1500 learners ranging from Grade RRR-12. In January 2017 we opened Crystal Park Prestige College for learners from Grade RRR-9, with the second phase of the school which extends the secondary Grades due to launch in January 2018.

January 2018 will be an eventful time for Prestige College Schools as it is likely to see the opening of three more schools, currently under development and construction. These schools are Kirkney Prestige College, in Pretoria West, Protea Glen Prestige College in Soweto and Thornview Prestige College Preparatory in Soshanguve.

Prestige College Schools is founded on the intent to offer affordable quality education in areas where this was previously inaccessible or severely limited. To achieve this whilst striving for the standards set in our founding school, we rely on the experience, passion, commitment and ongoing development of our teaching staff and the involvement and participation of our parent body. We believe that we are in partnership with our parents to pave the way for their children to have access to a world of opportunities. We seek to facilitate in our learners a strong sense of responsibility, the courage for creativity and initiative, a hunger and passion for learning and respectful relationships with all others. Deeply ingrained in our approach to education is our desire to see our learners change their worlds through entrepreneurship, leadership and a strong commitment to sustainability. In this we subscribe to the critical role of information technology and seek to encourage our learners to embrace the opportunities this offers them to grow and fast-track their aspirations.

Prestige College is founded on the Christian Faith and Principles, which is non-denominational and fully integrated with all our school programs and activities.
Educators and learners are expected to participate in full in the school’s programs and activities.
